I know this is very late notice, but there's a great chance to do something with your book if you're local to Seattle. But you've got to move kind of quickly (by midnight tomorrow), which, being as we are all used to a frenzied pace, means that you should be fine. They're very aware these will be rough drafts, but try not to be so rough that you're unreadable. Anyway, here's the details:

University Book Store Press Wants Writers to Obliterate the Empty Page this November!

Seattle, Washington - University Book Store Press will publish the best novel written by a local author during this November's National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). The "Obliterate the Empty Page" contest is open to all Washington state authors who participate in NaNoWriMo, and is sponsored by the Richard Hugo House, the Northwest Independent Editors Guild, the Pacific Northwest Writers Association and the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. All local writers who finish NaNoWriMo are eligible to enter but only one winner will be chosen.

The winning book will be published and printed by University Book Store Press, and will be stocked at University Book Store. The contest winner will receive ten complimentary copies of their book and be the featured writer at an author event in 2012. All finishers will be eligible for special NaNoWriMo pricing through University Book Store Press. A number of NaNoWriMo events will be held at University Book Store throughout November. See below for specifics.

This is kinda fun, if my story was all three full acts i'd think about it.

Yeah... even if I had written an ending to my NaNoWriMo novel already I would still not submit it. Still need to plot edit, fill holes, line edit, etc. I am guessing the winner will probably be one that was actually written LAST year. Lawl.

Good luck to anyone brave enough to enter. I guess it would be interesting to see what does eventually win and how good it turns out to be.

That is pretty cool, but right after NaNoWriMo is just not enough time to get a book ready for publication. Maybe I'll go see the "winner" at next year's event...
