Greetings to all the Mass Effect fans out there. And to those who are psyched for March 6, 2012, and the release of ME3.

(And special greetings to my Nano-ing peeps from CerberusDailyNews.com.)

Wait... wasn't CDN those tiny, in-universe updates that showed every time you started Mass Effect 2? Well, yes. But... to quote our TVTropes page(!):

Take a popular sci-fi series. In this example, Mass Effect.

Start up a page doing nothing but reposting the official, daily in-universe news blurbs.

Add a commentary box.

And watch the roleplayers just pour in.

That's what happened to Cerberus Daily News. A fake news site that grew into a roleplay community overnight, with its own forum, storylines, and chat channel. Even after BioWare announced that it would be putting its own news updates on hiatus beginning in January of 2011, save for the weeks preceding the release of the final Mass Effect 2 DLC and Mass Effect 3, CDN's members volunteered to write daily in-universe news stories of their own.

Cerberus Daily News can be found here.

Personally, I think Drew Karpyshyn and the Mass Effect writers at Bioware have the most fun of any authors out there. They get to write more than one story, in an original universe of their own design.

Can't wait for Mass Effect 3 to come out either! Was disappointed when they delayed it - have been bouncing up and down in excitement for the sequel ever since Mass Effect 2 came out!

Drew Karpshyn is awesome! Definitely love his storytelling! I really wish that they would have continued production on KotOR3, but, hey, this is pretty sweet too. :)

I picked up a copy of Mass Effect 2 for $0.52 maybe a month ago. I'm maybe 1/4 through my second play through now. I like it and certainly see the mass appeal. I described it to my sister as a cross betweem Dragon Age and Uncharted, set in space. I only have a PS3, so I wasn't able to start at the beginning of the story so, while I didn't feel like I missed out on anything critical, I don't have the same sort of burning desire to see teh end of the story that most fans seem to have. ME3 will stay on the back burner for me as a used copy pickup when I've run out of other games to play.
