PWI--Perfect World International

Does anyone here play Perfect World International? There's much to be liked (as well as disliked, sadly) about it, but I absolutely love it. I've made so many amazing friends there, played on the Harshlands server almost three years, and just playing it set off a chain of meeting wonderful people and Mumble and playing other games as well ...
I've taken several months long breaks from it before, but I always come back. There are muffins there, but again, great friends to be made and it's a huge world, so many people, great graphics (at least to me, if only they could stay at High).

For instance on the friends thing... an old guild I was in suggested Mumble as our Vent; and we all went there to talk. Things got slow and peeps disappeared, and it turned out the mumble was actually run by people from another game. I started talking with them and playing that other game, got in their guild; and this November, if all goes right, I'm going to meet one of them in NYC. Quite excited. Everything is connected. I'm glad I started playing PWI, cause I wouldn't have impacted peoples' lives, wouldn't have the friends I do now. I wouldn't know what I missed, sure, but I can say if I had a time machine, this is one thing I wouldn't change. Ever.

Re: PWI--Perfect World International

Yeah it can be very quest oriented but in the end/now I just fly around and buff people and make friends.

Oh my goodness! Dreamer, there's still so much I don't understand about it, with refining and special gear and all, and I've been playing it for years now. I went from Runescape to this game, so if you've ever heard of/played Runescape, you can picture it ... I was absolutely clueless in the beginning. :) Even with all the 'help' stuff I couldn't figure out how to walk, how to fly--I thought I was stuck in this one place forever in the beginning--didn't know what combos were or how to use them, always so much clicking, etc.

But, I'm so very much attached to it now.

haha 3 year vet speaking! :) (sadly I'm not capped or even close, highest I ever got was lv 66) but like you said I keep coming back to it because the world is breathtaking even if it is a slow level. I'm on heaven's tear, and while I think the ideas for this thread are awesome (nano meets mmo), I found I have to STOP my mmo's during this month.... I'll simply never write! x) The PWE numbskulls banned my account for a dumb reason (aka... apparently I accessed using some sort of regional banned IP or proxy, and I've played for 3 years with never a problem) so they finally were like look yo, just change your pw and we'll let you back in haha, so I logged in last night and flew around for hours looking at the new map and needless to say... I didn't write :D" now I have almost 6k words to write tonight to catch up (goin for 80k). Don't let me back on the game!!!! hahaha :)

I've played for close to two years now, on the Raging Tides server ^^

My friends got me hooked on it, and I must say, if it weren't for them I would've given up after 10mins lol. I had no idea what I was doing. It's a great game to waste hours on, but with the way it's going (PACKPACKPACKS) I've been playing less and less. I only really log on every once in a while to look at the new fash (I'm currently in love with the Feral Fluff xDDD) and see if there's any interesting drama going on (and when you're on RT, dramas not that hard to find).

So does anyone play any of their other games? I've kinda migrated over to Rusty Hearts >_>

I tried Forsaken World, but it was so restricting, and they had way too many worlds. Nobody seemed to talk except on World chat, which irritated the fudge out of me. So when I got this new laptop, I didn't reinstall it. I've tried most of their other games too; but I'm never satisfied with them. PWI will always be <3 XD

lol I can see being upset with packs, but the way I see it, spending money on any game is more like donating b/c they can cut you off or shut down servers any time they please. I've played sooo many mmo's its not funny, cabal, fiesta, archlord, well...you name it, i've prob tried it at least once. There are few games I'll go back to and those are pw, fiesta, and cabal :) I wish some people were on HT so I could add on pw ^_^ While some games have epic systems, i will say I've YET to see a game that can beat PW's realistic world :)

Forsaken World was alright, but I kept going back to PWI that I kinda just quit one day lol.

I can understand them wanting to make money and all, it is a business, but with the blatant unbalance in classes, the glitches that have been there since the beginning, and lack of GMs in game that everyone and their grandmother QQ's about, there's a whole bunch of things that'll make you lose your faith. Then again, it is F2P, so maybe most of us shouldn't take it too seriously. And I honestly wouldn't take back those two years of my life.
I had a ball.

Re: PWI--Perfect World International

'Xactly! There's so much that annoys me about PWI, but, in the end, I'd never go back. One thing has lead to another and I've gained some amazing friends, and that's what matters.
I tried the PvE world 'n stuff, but I stuck to the PvP. Harshlands 'for the win'.
I keep having this vain hope they'd shut down the game for a week or so, and update everything. I liked FW's pet system, or at least, how pets could actually go over bridges and such with you, and it wasn't "oh no! A bridge! A step! I can't follow you." And the graphics, and how you could go in buildings.
So I kinda wish they'd shut the game down and update everything so PW had FW's graphics, pets, and ... there was another one. Just can't remember it. XD

I just started playing, and never took notice of my server. :D Archosaur, apparently. I have a cleric flying around. I first made a ranger but as soon as I read somewhere that clerics can pretty much fly as much as they like without draining all of their mana, I switched over to them. :3 What's the point in flying if you can't do it as much as you like?

I hope you also learn your class o_O Clerics are in high demand, and if you fail, your squad will chew you out, ijs. But in terms of archers losing their mana, you get slightly better wings at lv30 that won't drain.

Good luck in your PWI adventures :D

But then i have a way of communicating wit my friends who live across the country, playing...
Personally i like games like dragon age andmass effect because you have a team that doesn't drop out when necessary and doesn't complain as much when you tell them to be a meat shield ^^
