Heck yes Nerdfighters! When I saw John's vlog about NaNo last year (or was it the year before?), I almost fell out of my chair from excitement. We're not even going to talk about my reaction to getting his pep talk in my inbox. It's wonderful to see a successful (and my favourite!) author commending NaNoWriMo and its participants instead of criticizing the quantity > quality dilemma.
I ordered TFIOS the day it appeared on Amazon. I can't wait for it to arrive, and thanks to Nerdfighteria not forgetting to be awesome, we don't even have to wait as long what with the date being bumped forward :D
Another nerdfighter reporting in! I preordered TFIOS almost as soon as it was available, and I'm already counting down days even though it's months away. I seriously can't wait to read that book!
And Nate, I'd be happy to enlighten you. Nerdfighters are fans of Hank and John Green, two of the most awesome brothers ever. Just make your way on over to http://youtube.com/user/vlogbrothers and begin your journey of discovery. And always, always DFTBA (Don't Forget To Be Awesome)!
YES! I kind of just became a nerdfighter this year, but after watching the videos and reading John's books and listening to Hank's music and seeing them at LeakyCon... well. It's irrefutable now.
Oh, I should also mention: I keep trying to figure out a way to write about the Evil Baby Orphanage for Nanowrimo, but haven't yet. I had a vague idea of the story centering around the Evil Babies as teenagers, when one of them stumbles across a confidential file and realizes they were born in another era; they then set out on a quest to discover just where they all came from, and why they're at the Orphanage. I thought they would all start out with ambiguous nicknames - for example, Liz (Elizabeth Bathory), Ace (Adolf Hitler), and J.C. (Jesus Christ... not that he's evil, but more people have died in religious wars than in the Holocaust, so I figured it would be a funny gag for him to end up there). I wish I could think of a good enough story arc to write it.
I would love to see that EBO novel! A friend of mine roleplayed an EBO director on twitter a few years back, and I can say it makes me want to follow the premise!
Any nerdfighters?
DFTBA anyone?
Well, I don't actually know where this kind of thread fits, I just hope I posted it in the right section.
Anyway, is anyone out there a NaNoWriMoer and a nerdfighter?
Re: Any nerdfighters?
Psssst... you might get more responses to this if it were in the Writing Groups and Clubs subforum
Anyway, hi, I'm Nimue, veteran Nano-er and Nerdfighteria newbie. Nice to meet you, and DFTBA!

My icon says it all. I actually discovered the Vlogbrothers thanks to my best friend linking me to John's Nanowrimo video in 2009!

Re: Any nerdfighters?
If we get enough Nerdfighters together in one place, can we combine our powers to summon Captain JohnHank to defeat world suck once and for all?
Hmmm... there's a novel in that...
Re: Any nerdfighters?
I'd read that novel.
Re: Any nerdfighters?
