I've noticed an AWFUL lot of Doctor Who fans on this site already...

And I don't know about you, but I'm missing having something to look forward to on Saturdays.

So who's your favorite Doctor?

(9 and 11 vie for the top spot in my heart.)

Well hello, sweety =D

I absolutely hate having to wait. Then again it's maybe good that there will not be any new episode in November. Since Tennant is already the face of my hero, I would have ended up with a Tardis or something as well.

I love 9, 10 and 11 for different reasons.
9 was my first Doctor that got me hooked. He did a fantastic job!
10... I love him for his accent (I fall for Scottish accents) and for him being him. DT is just amazing. Fullstop. XD
and 11 is so.. epic. What MS did with the Doctor is simply amazing and lovable. He's the Doctor that made me obsess about this show. He's the reason my friends roll their eyes when I start rambling XD

I just wish the show was bigger in Germany. It's so weird it's not even shown.

Hello everyone! :)

Favorite Doctor... Six. Definitely. Always. Though, Eleven nearly knocked him off the podium. :)

And I sympathize with feeling like the only Who fan in the country. I live in the US and everyone looks at me like I've grown a third eyeball when I ask if they watch <em>Doctor Who</em>.

@KelinciHutan Really? It's not exactly common here, but we have a thriving Whovian community in the Springfield area. It's a mix of the loads of pseudo-hipsters and the hoardes of nerds, especially in my High School (Central).

11 is my favorite, but I admit that I've only seen Nu!Who and a couple of the Classic series. I do love 4 and 5, though, and I feel as though I'd love 7 and 3 as well, if I got to know them. One of my best friends is a die-hard Fivey fan, so I know more about the Classic series then mot people know about current series of popular shows.

Hey all!

My favorite Doctor is Ten, without a doubt.
I discovered the show thanks to Charlie McDonnell, vlogger (yeah, I know lol) and I am literally addicted to it. I have to admit that I never watched any of the Classic series.

I'm originally from France and it kills me to watch it in French. And like Haselnuth said, the only proof that it is a show is that it's on TV, otherwise nobody knows what the heck I'm talking about. So yeah, I'm so glad to be in the UK this year, even more because of the shows I love that are from there.

Yay!

I started watching this show in my history class two years ago (we watched a season as part of a final project). The first episode I ever saw was Smith and Jones, which makes Ten my Doctor! Literally, I got to the wink (I hope you guys know the scene) and I was done. I went home and watched almost all the rest of the season. Yeah.

Anyway, I do love David Tennant, but I will admit that Matt Smith has done a fantastic job these last two seasons. I love all of his outfits and just his general silliness, which is such a change from the emotional episodes of Ten. I also love Rory (post-death) and Craig, who is probably my favourite minor character!

Cheers,
NfG

P.S I, too, love Charlie McDonnell.

P.S.S I've used the word "love" a lot...oh well.

Um....9, 10, or 5. Put the numbers in a hat and draw one out. My two favorite episodes of all time are probably The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, so I guess that would give it to Eccleston except...then there's Tennant and 3D glasses and celery and...and....

/sigh/

I have the added bonus of the fact that, even though I live in the US, my friend and I have converted so many of our friends to Doctor Who, that most everyone we know has heard of it by now. :D

I started watching Dr. Who way back during Tom Baker's episodes when they were on PBS. They cycled them, so eventually I got to see all the ones that were available, starting with Hartnell. I do wish they'd given 8 a chance on a series, though. He made a great Doctor.

I think my favorite episodes of the new series are The Doctor Dances and Blink. I can't look at a weeping angel now without cringing.

Welll...let me page back through my brain...(rustle, rustle)
I have a deep fondness of the very few episodes I have seen of Patrick Troughton, the 2nd doctor. Matt Smith reminds me a lot of him. Tom Baker was all the rage when I first caught wind of the show, but (like David Tennant said) Peter Davison was 'my Doctor.' I think Sylvester McCoy had some of the best written episodes, (and Ace, a companion that brows stuff up!) I liked Christopher Eccleston as an actor before, and was all giggly whe he was the new New Doctor. And there is something endearing about Matt Smith continually flaunting how uncool his coolness is.

I guess I can't choose. [roll theme music]

I started watching obsessively last summer (per suggestion of a nerdfighter friend whom I've known since I was 6), and I came back from university to discover that I had inadvertently gotten half of my high school hooked. I have no shame.

Favorite classic Doctor is 3. He was so awesome with his cloak and car, and he had that adorable lisp. Favorite new Doctor is 11, because he reminds me so much of the nutty professor characteristics of classic Who. He is also very nice to look at.

Favorite companions are Barbara, Ian, Donna, and Rory.

Hi!
I stumbled across the Whoniverse some three or four years ago, watching by accident what happened to be Torchwood.
Since then, I've watched almost all of NewWho and some classics. I know Doctors 1 to 3 and 9 to 11.

Two is wonderful and Ten is, well, Ten... but Eleven is my favourite by far. He's pretty much what the Doctor ought to have been from the start, given his background.
While he's an acquired taste to most of his fans, it took me about twenty seconds to love him to bits (and that was The End of Time, and I was sobbing all I could over the loss of Ten, but still... Eleven won the game).

I actually saw the doctor for the first time while on a trip to England- my host family decided I wasn't allowed to leave without watching one.

Since then, I've doomed my entire family to becoming fans of Matt Smith's Doctor with the Van Gogh episode. That definitely ranks as one of the most emotional TV episodes I've ever seen!

How did it take me five days to find this thread???

I am absolutely obsessed with Doctor Who. To the point of joining a Doctor Who club (called UNIT-United Nerdy Inter-temporal Travelers) in September of 2009 and not missing a single meeting since (including meetings during exam weeks and on Monday holidays)...and I'm the ONLY one who has been there longer than a year who still have perfect attendence....including the club's officers. UNIT is basically around two dozen nerds sitting in a room for 2-3 hours watching Doctor Who, both old and new, so basically....it is the most amazing club in the history of EVER!

As for favorite doctor...I have to say that 10 will always be my doctor, but I have much love for 11 as well.

WOO. Ten is my favorite, and I consider him my first, though when I was about six, my dad got Tom Baker's seasons on Netflix, but I was too young and I totally didn't get it. So Tennant is my favorite. 11's episodes are better, though, especially Van Gogh and Doctor's Wife.

It is impossible to choose ONE favorite Doctor. I LOVE THEM AAAALL
Well, I haven't seen much of the classic series, but what I have seen I love it as well.
The 11th Doctor and Amy however will forever hold a special place in my heart. The very first episode I've ever saw was Vincent and the Doctor. The next episode I saw was with 10 and Martha (which confused me GREATLY), so that's why I love Martha as well, and then 9 with Rose was just bamf all around. And Donna, just Donna.
Rory also set my expectations for guys extremely high.
I JUST LOVE ALL THE DOCTORS AND ALL THE COMPANIONS and I wish that had more meaning :c I need to see the classic series so bad

Re: NaNo Doctor Whovians

Hooray for Who! Or should that be whoray? XP

As a Brit, I've always been aware of <em>Doctor Who</em>, but I never saw much of the show itself as a kid, due to growing up in the years when it was off-air. My first true exposure to the series IIRC was <em>Doctor Who Night</em> on BBC2 back in 1999, of which I mostly remember watching the Eighth Doctor's TV movie. I still have a soft spot for that story, despite (or possibly <em>because of</em>) how stupid it was. McGann was awesome, at least. =P

My only other exposure to the actual show after that was a few repeats of various Pertwee and Tom Baker serials on BBC2 (including <em>Genesis of the Daleks</em>!), which were pretty cool. I didn't become a full-blown Whovian, though, until the series relaunch in 2005. I'd been following the news and promotional stuff with both interest and apprehension. I had no idea whether it would be great or garbage, but decided to just give it a chance. About five minutes into <em>Rose</em>, I was hooked for life. XD

I honestly couldn't tell you my favourite characters or stories - I love different things about every Doctor from Hartnell to Smith, and I have a certain fondness for even the sillier moments and monsters in the franchise - but I can tell you the main reason I love it so much - change. I love <em>Doctor Who</em> because it is probably the most flexible franchise in fiction. Regeneration gives the show an built-in excuse to change lead actors when they start to feel bored or typecast, companions come and go every couple years, and the concept of being able to travel anywhere in time and space means that writers can tell just about any kind of story their hearts desire. It's little wonder the show is still able to feel fresh and fun nearly five decades since it started.

That, and the fact that the show is just friggin' insane. <em>Doctor Who</em> doesn't just know that it's completely mad, it paints itself purple and sings from the rooftops about just how mad it is, and I can't help but admire it for that. I mean, come on. Steampunk mechs blowing up Victorian London with laser cannons? Robotic Loch Ness Monsters powered by shapeshifting tenctacle creatures? Living statues who break your neck and gobble up your future timeline, but only when you're not looking? Fascist space squids in tanks whose only hobby is plotting to murder every single living thing in the multiverse with egg whisks and toilet plungers? No other show can offer these things and more besides. Heck, that's the reason it's my primary inspiration for my NaNo this year!

So yeah, love the old show, love the new show, roll on Series 7 and the 50th anniversary and bow-ties most definately are cool. Viva la Who! =D

(Oh, yeah, spin-offs. Real quickly, <em>Torchwood</em> kinda sucks and <em>The Sarah Jane Adventures</em> kinda rules. Yeah. =P)

Re: NaNo Doctor Whovians

Yo, my whomies! (Or, exhibit No. 394 why I shouldn't be allowed near puns, ever. I apologize.)

I discovered the series in a sort of roundabout way, but it ended with true love (or obsession?) so it's all good.

Love all the Doctors, it's just a matter of degrees. (Kind of like children, you don't want to admit you have favorites. But... and don't tell them, especially not Six, but I like the first, second, sixth and seventh best.) And if I list favorite companions we'll be here all day. Unless... yeah, "all of them" will do. :)

Oh, and Big Finish! They make audio dramas with the classic Doctors (Tom Baker/Fourth Doctor just agreed to join them) and they are amazing. They've given the Doctor new companions as well as bringing back old ones. So for example: in addition to travelling with the, erm, not-always-lovable Peri, the fifth Doctor also picked up a fierce and wonderful almost-pharaoh, and she and Peri got along marvelously. Big Finish is great at creating new companions and they've done some fantastic story arcs with them, sometimes even with different Doctors.

They also have spinoffs; one of them, <strong>Gallifrey</strong>, is quite possibly my favorite thing of all time.

(Did I mention I adore Big Finish?)

I suppose I ought to answer the standard question about my favourite Doctor. If I can. I love all eleven of him. I think Three, Five, Seven, and Eleven tie for first place. My opinion on which of those four is best changes depending on which serial I've seen most recently.

And I agree with Yoshi about the brilliance of Big Finish. They gave Six good scripts, thus revealing what an excellent Doctor he really was! And they gave Eight scripts! And some rather excellent ones, too. And now I feel like listening to one of those again.

I LOVE THIS THREAD. All my real life Doctor Who fans live 19 hours away from me, I have no one to squee about Who with!

Four is my Doctor, and definitely my favorite. By far. But I am really, really fond of Eleven. I can't decide if it's him or Alex Kingston that makes me love him, though. Probably a combo of both, I have loved and adored Alex since ER, and anything she's in I will watch religiously. She's one of those that could have been the most terrible character ever, and I still would have loved her just because that's how much I love the actress. Ten is probably my least favorite Doctor, but blame that on series 3 and how he treated Martha. He redeemed himself for me when he took Donna on as a companion.

Speaking of which. Favorite companions? Sarah Jane comes first for me, but Nyssa is a close second, because she's how I got into Doctor Who, kind of. My best friend in grade school had that name, her dad had all the episodes on VHS, so naturally I was curious. Got hooked on my very first episode. And I'm such a ridiculous Donna fan, it's sort of insane. She's by far the best New Who companion the Doctor has had. Rory is pretty fantastic too, though. River is kind of off in a category of her own, not really a "real" companion, but she's Alex so I love her.

Ugh. I love this discussion and I hate that I have to go to work now.

I think Sarah Jane is my absolute favorite. I liked the era with Tegan, Nyssa, and Adric, too. Anyone here remember Jamie? I love a man in a kilt!

I'd count River as a companion, in the same way that the Brigadier and Saergent Benton was. (Forgive my spelling today!) Of the newer companions, yeah, I've got to agree, Donna and Rory. Rory so often feels like a third wheel. My heart goes out to him sometimes.

And of course there's Captain Jack. One of my favorite episodes is The Doctor Dances. There's an episode with 10 where they have to wear gas masks for some reason, and he turns to another character and says, "Are you my mommy?"

For the new series, I have to say I really love what Matt Smith has done with the 11th Doctor. A nice change from the constant dark/moody 10th and 11th, and I love how the change has been an actual legitimate progression of character development. I'm sort of in love with the idea that each of the Doctor's incarnations in the new series aligns strongly with one of the stages of grief.

As far as classic Who goes, I'm really quite in love with the 7th Doctor lately. The Curse of Fenric and Battlefield are a couple favorites, off the top of my head. I also adore the 3rd Doctor, and I can get into the 4th if I'm in the mood.

My favorite companions are Ace and the Brigadier, hands down. I think they were characters who actually really had stories of their own, and weren't overly clingy to the extent we've seen in the others.

P.S. Yesterday my best friend and I marathoned all the episodes featuring River Song, in reverse. As in, we started A Good Man Goes to War and moved chronologically through her life. It was amazing. =D

<strong>nemaline:</strong> I haven't listened to that one yet, but I'm so looking forward to it! Evelyn's just wonderful. :)

<strong>LittleGreyDragon:</strong> Amen to all that! I actually used to hate Six, but now he's one of my favorites. I feel like Big Finish is an orphanage that turns out prodigies...

<strong>Jenny-M:</strong> Curse of Fenric is so good! It's veeeery high on my list of all-time favorites. (Actually, there are a lot of seventh Doctor stories on that list... Eh.) I agree with you on Ace &amp; the Brig, but there are other companions I love to pieces too: Barbara and Ian, Liz Shaw, Leela, and Romana. True, the show didn't dwell on their backstory, but Barbara+Ian=OTP, Liz Shaw was brilliant AND managed to run in skimpy skirts and heels, Leela is a BAMF and Romana... Romana became President of ~Gallifrey,~ you cannot hope to beat the awesomeness of that.

... and with that outpouring of sentiment, I think it's clearly time for sleep.

Ummmm... I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend now!! That sounds like FUN.

Ace is totally in my top five companions too.

You definitely should find some classic serials, Ellesar. The new series has some amazing stories, but sometimes you just can't beat the old stuff. I feel like the low budget forced them to rely a bit more heavily on good acting and ingenuity, and you can really tell -- some of those serials are simply brilliant.

On another note, I just watched War Games for the first time, and loved it. Now I'm starting to realise how tragic it really is that so many of Troughton's episodes are lost.

9 is always my Doctor. ^^ 10 got a little too fanservice, and then too melodramatic at the end, and I liked 11 just fine until "Let's Kill Hitler." It was the throwaway misogyny of the line "Plus she's a woman...oh shut, I'm dying" that startled me out of my "I love Doctor Who" absorbtion, and it was a few weeks before I got back to it. One thing I really loved about RTD was the really strong antidiscrimination messages his episodes always sent. I'm pretending that line never happened, but I'm definitely warier while watching now. :/ STILL TOTALLY WORTH IT THOUGH. &lt;3 Doctor Who!

I am so happy to find this thread - my family LOVES Doctor Who!

Every Saturday we have our doctor's appointment and we get together for a Whotenanny. My son and daughter-in-law got our family hooked on watching the good doctor. They named their little girl Amy - her nickname is Pond. Now they can always say, "Come along, Pond!"

We got started on Doctor Who during the 10th doctor. Since then, my son purchased all the back seasons he could to Doctor Who. His favorite doc is David Tennant. I really like David Tennant too, but I think Matt Smith, the 11th doctor is my favorite. I really like the River, Amy and Rory ensemble. Rory is understated and so likeable. River and Amy are delightful.

It made me really happy when Doctor Who came to America - especially when they were at Lake Powell. Lake Powell is one of my favorite places on earth! I watched a Doctor Who special where the actors talked about the experience. It seemed like Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill particularly thought the Lake Powell area was amazing.

Thanks so much for this thread and for all of your comments! They are very fun to read :)

I'm sure it disappoints people who think it's going to be a fan site. ha ha

Hello Whovians!!!

Oh yay!! What a great group! I absolutely miss my Saturdays - big time! I'm a new Whovian. I watched Doctors 9, 10 and 11 on Netflix this Spring and finished up in time for the second half of 11's season. It has been great!

9 is my first doctor, so I love him always for that.
10 is a converse wearing, crazy-haired dude - I'm a converse wearing, crazy-haired chick, so how could I not fall head over heels?
11 is cool, baby. He's so, so very "cool." With his cool bow ties, fezes and even those Stetsons. Man! I can't get enough of him!

The fact of the matter is this - I love the doctor! After every regeneration I think my love will be lost, but I am surprised every time!

I think after NaNoWriMo I am going to begin my project of trying to see as many of the earlier doctors as possible!

Thanks for making up this group!!

Best,
Nicole :)

Doctor Who! David Tennant has a special place in my heart but...Matt Smith might be my favorite doctor. I was in denial about this but I say "bow ties are cool" so often now I don't think I can hid it anymore. There's just a dorky charm about him that I adore.

So my question is, are there really that many more Whovians on this site than there were last year? I didn't know DW existed until earlier this year, so I would have been oblivious to the avatars, the threads, the random references. Now every time I turn around I see it, and of course I can't remember how that compares to previous years.

I've only seen 9, 10, and 11, and I prefer 10. All my favourite episodes are David Tennant ones.
Not only are the actors different but I feel each Doctor brings on a new style to the show.
I like the earlier (early being 9 and some 10, not all the others) styles best.

And yeah, I'm also saying 10 because Mr. Tennant is very hot.

So, after two years doing NaNoWriMo I finally check out the forums and what do I find? So many Doctor Who Fans?! Still can't belive it...

As for me, my favorite Doctors are 4, 10 and 11 (not necessarily in that order). I also like the Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton, quite a bit even though I've only watched a couple of episodes with him.
I still have to watch Doctors 6 - 8 yet, though.

Doctor Who Fans not only get the best quotes, they also get the best spaceship ever :) I mean, what spaceship can compare to the TARDIS?

Doctor who is awesome... I love 4, 5, 8, 10, and 11 Best.... followed by 9, 3, 7, 2, 1....

The sixth Doctor, Colin Baker... I always thought he was a bit abusive. Poor Perry... I kept wanting her to seek domestic abuse counseling. Though when The doctor told her they were going to move to a cave and become hermits... that makes me giggle. But yea... LOVE Doctor who.

I thought good old Sarah Jane was a great companion. Best screamer was Joe.... and Leela and K-9

Re: NaNo Doctor Whovians

Hello! I'm a bit late to the party but I quite literally JUST got into the show. I'd been putting off seeing it since I knew it was going to be one of those big, once-in-a-life-time change-your-life-forever kind of things and I get really obsessive about my TV shows (and I do mean REALLY obsessive). But I finally caved because I'm a sucker for a good psychopath and my friend had the good graces to introduce me to the Master.

Haven't got to see many episodes just yet. Too poor to buy them, sadly (hello, Christmas!) but I did just rent series 1 from the library and I've seen a handful of Ten's episodes (with various companions. Everyone but Rose, actually) and I've seen a couple of Eleven's episodes (as well as his Christmas special, which I caught way back when they first aired it in January because it was on BBCA right before Primeval came on.)

So I guess that technically makes Eleven my Doctor, though the first episodes I paid any attention to were Ten's. Right now Ten is my favourite (god I love David Tennant), but I'll wait til I see all of New Who before making that decision. (And then I'll get started in on Classic Who).

As for companions, I haven't met River on the show yet, but I have met and do love Amy. And Donna. I adore Donna Noble.

I can't have a favorite Doctor. I mean, I haven't seen much of the old ones but they all have a great wit and Four is just amazing and Eight likes shoes that fit well and Nine is /fantastic/ and Ten is brilliant and I'm not to Eleven yet...

I love seeing everybody's avatars, so much love for Doctor Who. :) I can't believe no one's stalking about Four. Come on guys! :P
Yesterday I saw that The Proclaimers video with 10's crew, I almost cried. I spent my whole day singing along with the video, it was so fun and so nostalgic. Well, not the whole day because we had a power outage at 11pm. I sat there quietly while singing for at least another hour until I gave up and collapsed in my bed. Yay for Doctor Who love.

A group of my friends and I went as Doctor Who characters (the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctors, Amy, Rory, Mels and a Weeping Angel) for the Halloween thing at our church and it was soooo awesome. We even made a TARDIS. Plus, we met someone else there who was dressed as the Eleventh Doctor too. Can you say "paradox"? :D

Doctor Who costumes for the win!

Here's a nanofied version of the Pandorica speech I thought up last night for ya'll. Yell this dramatically at distractions and they shall not dare to come near you.

Hello, Nanoland! He who makes his word count takes the universe but, bad news everyone. 'cause, guess who? Ha! You lot, you're all whizzing about being very distracting, so could you all stand still for a moment because I AM TALKING! Now then. The question of the hour is, who's going to finish Nanowrimo? Answer, I am! Next question! Who's going to stop me? Come on, look at me! I'm planned, with backups, and readily sharpened pencils, and something else. I don't have anything to loose! So if you've got any plans on distracting me tonight just remember who's standing in your way. Remember every black day I ever stopped you. And then, and then! Do the smart thing. Try it on someone else first.

I love Doctor Who. I love Torchwood. I grew up with my Mom watching Doctor Who on Sunday nights on Channel 11 - WTTW in Chicago. How much do I love it? I'm the one behind the semi-annual Whoniverse Photoshoots in Chicago.

Do I have to pick just one Doctor? Four was the first I remember and is dear to my heart since my Mom loved Four and Five, but it was Ten who brought me back. And Eleven and Seven are awesome. We never got to see enough of Six, and One is so awesome I could just cuddle him all day... See what I mean?

My favorite Doctor is 10... and then 11, 4, 9, 3, 5, 6... in that order. I love the rest of them too... but those are my favorites.

My favorite companions are Rose, Jack, River, Donna, Rory in that order. I don't like Amy and Martha that much... don't kill me.

The Master is my favorite villain and then the Daleks. John Simm is my favorite Master.

I also watch Torchwood.

Granted I haven't seen him played by any of the older Masters yet, so there's no contest but he's delightfully insane and hilarious and he dances to scissors sisters and gases rooms full of Bureaucrats, what's not to love?

I actually read an article somewhere that John Simm said he would come back as the Master if Moffat wrote him into series 7. Gah, pleaseeee Moffat? Bring him backkk.

I really wish they hadn't killed the Master as many times as they did; although he has a strange reputation for dying and coming back and then dying some more. He's probably my favorite villain. I love his interactions with the Doctor, especially with the new complication of being the only other Time Lord in the universe.

But he is really, really, really, really dead this time... deader than he's ever been before. :P

I really hope he brings back the master, or any body from the previous seasons, Ive noticed Moffat hasn't really done that (excluding Riversong, but considering he wrote the episodes she was in in series 4 that doesn't really count), but he is a genius, Im sure he will bring something good back.

I'm a huge Matt Smith fan. :) Though David Tenant is a close second.

But I suppose I'm relatively new to Doctor Who in that I got into it last summer, so Matt Smith was my first Doctor and is thoroughly awesome. ^^

NaNo-ers after my own heart! I am a Doctor Who freak. True story.
Ten is my favorite, but if Nine had stuck around longer he might have had a fighting shot. Nine was so intense and raw and I adored him, but Ten hung around for so long that I just have a soft spot for him. Eleven has been doing pretty well. I just don't really like Amy or River all that much so these eps aren't as good to me.
My 6 year old is obsessed with the Weeping Angels. She asked for an action figure of it for Xmas. I love that kid.

I've been on the fence about this ever since I heard about it! I think I have finally come around to liking the idea that it's on another storyline (this way it won't just feel like a giant episode I'm paying $12 to see!) with a different Doctor. Doctor Who is one of the few series (perhaps the only one...) that can LEGITIMATELY write a story out of sequence and STILL be current.

My final worry left with the movie is that I fear it will be over-Americanized. I love my country and all, but the Doctor is a British institution! I am not ready for an American doctor, so hopefully that won't happen!!

We had a conversation on another forum about what you would do if you were the producer for the next Doctor Who movie, and I wanted to make the Time War. Honestly, I'm not happy about the idea of a separate storyline either. I think they could make an entire trilogy for the Time War, and if they get bored of that they can go back and do the First Doctor as a young man. You know there's a story there...

Oh YES, totally agree. I am an American, too and I would be brokenhearted if the movie was made by someone other than a British citizen. Need I remind anyone of the atrocity that was Torchwood: Miracle Day? *shudder*

10 is my favorite, but 4 is a close second. Tom Baker really was wonderful. 9 is third. Again, wish he had stuck around longer. But honestly, all the ones I've seen have been awesome.

I don't dislike any Doctors! Admittedly, I have not seen the classic series. But 9 (who is underrated) was my first doctor, and I wish he'd been around for longer. 10 is MY Doctor (suits. 3D glasses. weeel. hair. And David Tennant is a phenomenal actor! :-D) But I can't say that 11 is my least favorite either, because although it took me a while to warm up to him, he really grew on me during Season 6. I just love his silliness, and his love of all cool things that are uncool!

But to sevanouir7's question, strictly in terms of hotness, I'd have to say 10 (although 11 is a close second!) :-D As for girliness, me too. Hotness is a girly thing that I usually don't worry about. For me, it's more the acting than the looks (although even for acting DT would still win!) I never act like a crazed fangirl, EXCEPT for the Doctor. :-D

He's a realist, and I love his attitude of "wow, we're all going to die. Oh well! *crazy grin* " If Christopher eccleston were a bit less old, I'd totally be in love with him. What am I saying. I'm totally in love with him. Question: If I marry Christopher Eccleston, would the 26 year age gap be creepy?

Re: NaNo Doctor Whovians

Hi gang,

Been watching Doctor Who since the early 80s via the PBS station back home in Chicago. So, Tom and Peter were my first Doctors in tandem due to re-runs and first-runs at the same time. I love them both as the Doctor. I met Tom once at a SciFi con in 1991 I think it was. What a lovely man!

In regards to the "new" Doctor Who ... Chris did a wonderful job. While I would have wished him to do at least a 2nd season, but would have prevented us from meeting David next! And David ... he was pure Doctor Who all the way. We of similar age, both saw Tom and Peter as our first Doctor Who ... and now he's with Peter's daughter, Georgia. How neat is that?!

Sadly, I won't be able to see the current season (I forget when it starts) .. as I do not have cable TV and can never afford to buy videos. I was watching them on the now-closed Megavideo and where ever else I could find them online. I know, not cool ... but it was the only way I could watch shows like Doctor Who and True Blood. Now I can't. *sniffles*

Anyways ... Have there been any news as to when Matt's tenure if over with (not that I want it to, he's great also) and who the next (and last) Doctor will be?
