Post-NaNoWriMo Teen Club!

We don't need to start a separate message board or anything, but I thought it would be cool to do a Post-NaNo club for us young'ins to stick together. Motivate. Break dance. Word sprint. Plot wars. Y'know... just be cool together between Dec-Oct. Anyone with me?

*goes to start making icons*

I wasn't sure if anyone has done this or not. I haven't seen anything all month.

I'm in. Without the November rush I'm bound to be more active here anyway, and I'm planning a writing project for December as we speak so . . . yeah.

Besides, I need more distractions from the whole graduation prep business.

Re: Post-NaNoWriMo Teen Club!

Hello, all! May I join this little shindig?

Captain Lonewolf and Silvia, I'm not editing mine. At least, not anytime soon. I finished the book and don't like it. At all. Maybe one day I'll go back to it once I've forgotten about it and I can judge it without bias but not now. It probably won't be for awhile. So, Captain, if editing isn't fun, just don't do it. :) As for the homework thing, I have to say that there are certain points that homework CAN be ignored to. Trust me: I've pretty much mastered procrastination.

Also, Captain, I think it's awesome that you won with exactly 1,000,000 words. Way to end it on a nice, clean number. Wait. What? A...a million? How...why...when...ahhh!!! ... ... ... ... ... <--Sorry. Breakdown over.

I understand completely. Maybe you'll be able to go back to it eventually. =)

*laughs* Well, in my experience, homework is really not a good thing to ignore. XD The consequences for my doing that aren't fun. o_o I am quite skilled at procrastination myself. 'Tis a skill I wish I didn't possess, actually. *rolls eyes at self*

And I am guessing from the hoodie you are in Alabama. If so forgive me because Have made so many alabama jokes.

And no it doesn't make much sense. But hey if we get to be good friends tell me next time you are in town.

The nanomail will be winging its way to you in just a few moments. ^_^ Haha that would have been tempting as well...I have an awesome cousin who goes to GA Tech. ;)

I used to live in Alabama. We moved a few years ago. =) My loyalty remains with the Heart of Dixie, however! Roll Tide! ;) And I might be able to forgive you. Maybe. If you can forgive me for all of the jokes I have made at Georgia's expense. ;)

Sure thing. =) Maybe I'll come back through before too long...you never know. I don't even know, actually...things get pretty wacky 'round here sometimes. =)

I like wordpress. If anyone wants to do some sort of novelty thing for this club... NaNoMail me and we can set it up. I hate doing blogs by myself so if any one wants to work on it too or whatevvvvvvver.....

ONE MILLION WORD. Guacamole. I could barely get 30k, and I home school so it didn't matter how late I stayed up.

Uuuuuughhhh I really need to finish my novel by the end of the month. I just keep getting side tracked by how stupid I think my book is. Deff. doesn't make it into a set genre.... somewhere between YA and Lit Fic and Mystery/Suspense. With too much dating goop thrown in because I liked my MMC.

Silvia, thanks. :) I drove by myself for the first time today. My dad was happy because it meant he didn't have to take me to work at 7 am like he used to. This license thing is convenient. I hate homework. I think I did it maybe twice in November when I was supposed to do it? I put off math for weeks at a time since she collects and checks them after every chapter. So no need to do them until the night before the test, right? English I did because it's AP and the homework is all papers and reading. That seemed important and not even that painful. Physics is the same as math--all homework done the night before. Thankfully, I didn't have TOO much work during NaNo.

Captain, I kind of like your acronym. It's difficult to say, just like that task it's talking about. ;)

Alpina, I'm not against wordpress. And my book sort of fits fantasy/supernatural but the new one I'm working on is...confusing me...as far as genre goes. Don't label, see where it takes you and then figure out what it actually is. :)

No, I don't think so. I was with my 4-H team and our coach liked barbecue, so we ended up going to this little barbecue place that he liked. I can't remember what it was called. And the time before that he decided that he wanted Huddle House, so we went there. *shakes head and grins at memory*

Out of My Mind? Might have heard it on the radio. ROFL. IRONY.

Ahhh....

Sorry I mentioned. I will say, I'm not a Justin B fan, but even HE doesn't grate on me as much as Cody.... at least with Justin Beaver I can do funny spoof dances when 'Baby' comes on the radio.....

Ehhh.... I've been trying to finish, but right now I'm reconfiguring my plot. I didn't even come up with a name or personality for my ANTAG until a week or so ago. I'm just trying to get some kind of REASONABLE way to end my novel. Got a great idea from a Writer's Digest member's thing...

"Put the story aside and make a list of all the possible things that could happen in the ending (even if they violate your original vision of the story). Come at it from every possible angle–the expected and the unexpected, the “soft” and the “hard,” the happy and the sad and whatever lies in between. [.....] Chances are, the key to your ending lies in the beginning and the middle of the story. You may discover that the story you’ve written is quite different from the one you set out to write.."

So yeah.

Is NaNoFiMo an actual website? Sure sounds like a good way to keep yourself accountable.

Haha yeah, I'm agreeing with you on the "Justin B. vs. Cody Simpson" thing. =P And I can poke fun at "Baby" as well. *grins*
*nods sympathetically* Yeah, I get where you're coming from on that one. And I like that quote. I'm going to have to remember that...maybe it'll help. =P
Yup, NaNoFiMo is an actual website. You should join in! It's nowhere near as popular as NaNoWriMo, but there are a few of us over there. =) http://nanofimo.proboards.com/
BAHAHAHAHAHA! You grin during ACT & SAT English, too?

Sounds like everyone is in favor of wordpress... so I'll just do a blog called postnanowrimoteens? NaNoMail me your usernames on there if yah want to write on it. Everyone is welcome.

*laughs* You mean I'm not the only one? YUSS!! XD I was grinning like a complete idiot without even realizing it for the longest time. I think the instructer-dude-person thought I had completely lost it.

Ooh! I'll be emailing you mine soon! I'm about to have to run off to bed now, but I should hopefully get it to you tomorrow or something. ^_^

Yo. ;) Another teen here ;) Breakdancing, eh? I think I'll stick with the examples y'all set and continue breakdancing in my room. By myself. Where no one can laugh as I do a faceplant. XD

The blog looks cool :D (I have one of my own - www.thatcrazywriterchick.blogspot.com ) :) Is anyone else trying to do Milwordy or RaGenWriMo, etc in 2012?? I'm trying to do as many as I can :D Hopefully I don't murder my brain in the process lol XD
Hi! So we have another break dancer who is more likely to actually break something than do it right! XD Yes! Welcome. ^_^
What is Milwordy and RaGenWriMo? =/ And murdering your brain would be bad. ;)

Also, welcome to Audra Dancer! And if I forgot to welcome someone, I'm sorry, tell me and I shall fix that right away. I'm sleepy. ._. I'm headed to bed now, I think. 'Night, all!

Alpina, I'm sorry your story didn't make it but I'm glad you're going to keep trying. That's the best anyone can do, right? I'm proud of you. :)

I will NOT be writing (much) until June, I think. I was going to start another novel right away but trying just seemed like too much effort right now. I love writing and I know I'll miss it but my brain is soo fried. I also just finished the first book I've read in months. MONTHS. Outside of school, anyway. So I'm taking some time from writing.....Alright. I probably won't wait until June but it'll be a couple weeks, at least.

Bahaha pop music and pop fiction are a never ending source of jokes and puns.

Yeah, I was really blessed that I found that article, because it helps a lot. Some times I stop writing because I don't know what angle to go at.... but writing all of the ways to go helps make things clear and straightforward.

Ahhh.. well it's probably a little late to join NaNoFiMo... but NEXT YEAR is a diff story (literally ROFL)

I guess I didn't grin when I took the SAT. Cold classroom + little test prep + SAT = :-o
But last year I did ACT and the English part was alright. Now I look at SAT tests and say "That looks so dang easy." ACT Science was treacherous. I think they need to add more time to that section.

Here is the contest I entered and my entry:

I just wanted to say that Carley wrote an AMAZINGLY AWESOME post on the blog... *high fives* I've learned a lot this NaNo, myself. About good writing. And why I haven't finished a novel. And that I use the word 'I' wayyyy too much without meaning to and end up sounding self-centered.

And yeah, I had #4 as a HUGE problem. My friend (who isn't a writer) was going to do NaNo and she kept wanting to read mine.... DUDE, I'm only TEN THOUSAND WORDS into the story, it isn't ready yet! xD I haven't seen her in a while, so hopefully she'll forget about it...?

*sigh* Maybe us writers need to come up with a survival kit for the real world. Wouldn't that be something?

I think "social skills" should be included within this survival kit xD Because sometimes.... I just could really use some.

Introductions are probably in order, so yeah... (see what I mean? haha) I'm FalconX, and I'm 16! For a couple more months. I did manage to completely NaNoWriMo this year, but my story is far from done. Hoping to finish the first draft quickly, but I've been procrastinating. I thought maybe joining this thread would benefit my sadly neglected novel!

Love the blog by the way! And I must agree, Carley's blog post was great :D

About my post: thanks guys. :) I wanted to write something but didn't have a story I felt like working so...blog post! LOL. Yeah, people wanting to read my story have been a problem. My dad actually already read it, unedited. I was uncomfortable with it but my dad was begging to read it right away. So, with a huge amount of warnings about the quality of first draft writing and how he shouldn't judge me based on this, he got to read it....He said it liked it but now all I hear is "When are you going to edit it? You should edit it. You should let that teacher read it. When are you going to edit it?" Hopefully, he'll forget about it soon, too. Or at least give up.

Hi, FalconX! Good luck finishing your book. We can help!...somehow, anyway. And writers don't need social skills. We can just create a character who has enough for everyone. ;D

How was everyone's holiday?

Editing's going awesome! I was kinda procrastinating on editing my NaNo novel because there was some weird format thing going on with it, until I found out editing on the iPad is great! I've given up on Milwordy, in favor of outlining my novel idea further, which is "sucky" so far.

And I agree with June! I can't wait for Camp NaNo, unless you can't wait for June for another reason, which would make me feel pretty stupid right now.

I was avoiding editing too but it's really not so bad now that I've started. While I'd still rather be writing something new, I
at least enjoying the editing. How is the iPad helping with editing? My brother has one, should I steal it from him? Lol. Personally, I prefer to edit a hard copy.

Half of my excitement for June comes from Camp NaNo. I think it'll be really fun and the cabin seem like a good way to meet new people. This was my first NaNo this past November so it'll be my first camp too.
The other hal of my excitement is because I graduate this June and that can't come soon enough. Haha.

Hey!

Can I join this very-fun-looking place?

My Nano was actually only a side-project to take a break from my main WIP, which I've returned to. But now that I've had a break from the Nano itself, I'm taking my first peek back at it again. I'm reading through it, making minor edits and notes, and it's amazingly fun, actually! I'm surprised.

Um . . . that was boring.

So, how are y'all doing?

Once again, I have not posted in a very long time. I would blame school, but for once it isn't piling a boatload of homework on me and so I have only the magic of procrastination to fall back on.

I like editing on an iPad because it's kind of a different experience for me to twist and move things with my hands and this is going to sound super corny, but I feel like I'm "actually making my world/story." Meh. It's just a different experience from sitting at a computer and doing it out. But I'm only using it for grammar checks and stuff cause I like editing hard copies as well.

Yay! You're joining Camp NaNo! I joined it last year and it was awesome, especially the cabin features. In NaNo, unless you talk around on the forums a lot, you might not feel that connection with writers, and so the cabins are cool because there are only a small handful of writers and you just discuss with them.

Also, hello Celtic! Nice to have you around. I'm doing good, procrastinating and such. I should be updating some of my fanfiction, but have decided to waste my time on twitter instead.
