Camp NaNoWriMo Shared Blog Topics?

I participate in Blog Azeroth which is a World of Warcraft group of bloggers where folks do blog posts in response to a weekly shared topic (and then run around commenting on other folks' blogs to keep the conversation going).

I was thinking that this might be a good way to spread the Camping Fever come May (and maybe July)… would anyone else be interested in playing too? :)

The forums are shiny-- but there are lots of folks outside the forums who don't know the joy of Camping and I'm hoping to reach a few of those this time 'round... *grin*

Sounds interesting! I believe I could be persuaded to do this. ;)

Yay! :D

I was trying to think of weekly topic ideas-- have any suggestions?

It needs to be something Camp and NaNo related, so that it lures folks back to the NaNo site, but I'm not sure if they should be writing related or more personal (ie 'why do you do NaNo/what are you planning for NaNo')

Why not both? We've got a few weeks, so we could easily fit both in.

Then I guess it's down to what sort of things you'd like to write about and what sort of things you'd like to get other folks thoughts on! *grin*

I'm going to suggest a 'how do you NaNo' topic, just to peek into everyone's planning process for Camp. No two people seem to have the same approach on how to tackle the 50k mountain. ^_^

I agree! I'd be happy to participate. What do I need to do?

Right now? Help brainstorm! *grin*

What kind of post topics would you like to write about?

What day is a good 'cutoff' day to have the topics end?

Did you want to do one topic a week in May and then in July, or just May?

So many possibilities! *grin*

Plus it's a great way to get started on planning out June and August while we still have time. ^_~ heh

Rough ideas for blog post topics follow. Any thoughts? :)

June 30 – May 6 : Why are you doing Camp NaNo this year? What inspires you, or sparked your interest, or brought you back for another round of insanity?

May 7 – 13 : What's your planning process? Do you outline or are you a pantser? Do you just dive in on day one or do you have your story in mind from the get go?

May 14 – 20 : Where do you write? On the train, on the plane, in a box, on Firefox? *grin* Do you write at home or at work or whenever you get a chance? Is there one setting that screams 'this is Writing Time™' or not?

May 21 – 27 : Alone or in crowds? Building off last week, do you prefer to write alone or is writing in the company of friends (online or off) part of your process? (addendum: are you getting your friends to come to Camp too?)

May 28 – June 3 : The Final Countdown Camper rollcall! Are you ready for Camp? What's changed since the first post? Have you chosen a different story idea, or a different place to write, or have you decided that August sounds better than June?

All this sounds good to me! I believe, on the first one, you meant April instead of June, though. I hope so, anyway. I'm not good with time paradox...es.

Whoops! Yeah, that was my brain getting away from me again... darned lack of an edit button! :P

Hello, Hello Campers! Since this is a fabulous idea about a blog created by Campers, it technically falls under the Forum of Writing Groups and Clubs. I will be moving this topic down to that forum and you all can continue to plan and create as needed!

If you intend to do any promotion of this join blog endeavor you will need to make one post in our Marketing, Self-Promotion, and Stuff for Sale forum which is the place provided for promoting user blogs, and other such items.

Thanks Campers and good luck on the blog. Can't wait to read it! :D
