Rin stood on the cold, dew wetted grass, thin shoulders shivering in the cold. The collapsed dock lay in front of her like a tomb, all splintered wood and rising mist. Her mind was foggy, not quite clear on what was happening, not quite sure if this was reality or just a distorted dream and praying to god that it is. A tune played through her head, just in the back of her mind. A lullaby, she thought, a song to put someone to sleep. Ironic. Mercy layed her head on Jason’s shoulder and tried to muffle her tears in his woolen trench coat. It must have been hard for her, Rin thought, losing her mother and now…
There, across the rocks is a thin film of reddish liquid. Blood? Rin though so, the left pointer finger she found impaled on a broken board left no doubt in her mind. They were dead. Dead and gone. Gone with the wind and the rushing sea.
