5amwriter has written fiction and poetry since childhood (including haikus composed in her third-grade language arts class). She has been a member of the Stromboli Streghe writers’ group since 2003. The critique group celebrated 10 years of meeting and reviewing each other’s work by publishing a collection titled The Pen Is Mightier Than the Broom: Memoirs, Stories, and Poems in which she has four short stories. The Secret Diary, which received honorable mention in the Washington Writers’ Publishing House contest for 2008, is her first novel.
