Author bio:

I'm Alleyne Dickens. Yes, that's my real name. Didn't my parents have amazing foresight?

I cut my reading teeth on historicals many moons ago. I also read my way through fantasy, sci-fi and romance. You name it, I've probably read it -- or own it. MY TBR pile encompasses several bookcases. But, hey, you can't have too many books, right?

I've been told that I have a very historical writing voice. I can't imagine writing anything that isn't that doesn't have a historical setting. I've written Gilded Age mysteries (not selling at the time but I may be dusting that off soon), Regencies (doesn't everyone) and now Steampunk. I won the Fool For Love Contest (as paranormal) with my first steampunk story and recently finalled with it in the FF&P chapter's On the Far Side Contest.

I love taking liberties with history, especially the science. I have a degree in geology, but should disclose that it was a double major with theatre. I also love plot. My stories tend to be much bigger than traditional romances. Steampunk seems to check all my boxes and I really enjoy both the reading and the writing.
