Author bio:
Well, I`m from Germany, Bavaria. I have NEVER been to the Octoberfest and I do not wear Dirndl ;-) I want to become a translator which means I`ve got another two years of school (at a foreign language school) ahead of me.
I`ve been writing since I was twelve, starting with fanfictions and now also doing prosa. I`ve got too many ideas and not enough time to write them all down. And this is where NaNoWriMo comes in:
October 29, 2009. A friend of mine shows me the wikipedia-link to NaNoWriMo (I guess she thought I wasn`t crazy enough as it was). My first thought: "Woah, that`s INSANE! ...Where can I sign up?"
I had no outline, no IDEA, no plot, nothing. What I did have were two characters and my determination (others may call this "stubborness"). In the end, I finished my first original story ever with 50,266 words - and went right on to plot for 2010, which I ended up winning with 71,424 words. There`s something about writing 10 K in the very first night that makes it all seem so insane...
This year was my third NaNo and definitely NOT my last. I`ll still be doing this in 20 years, people!
My friends think I am crazy, which is probably true and evidenced by me being here. Most of my time is spent reading, writing and watching American TV-Shows, which I quite frequently quote - preferably in class. I also read a lot of fanfiction and I tend to translate some of them if I find the time and like them enough.
Want to know more? Just ask. I don`t bite...most of the time.
