Synopsis
"It's a sin to kill a mockingbird."
15-year-old Marlee Hitchens was born into a family of criminals, a family she's never really felt she belonged in. While her parents and brothers live paycheck-to-paycheck, and score-to-score, Marlee wants something more- to learn, explore, and live her own life on her own terms.
But trouble is descending on the household in the form of Marlee's Uncle Nick, just released from prison after 15 years and ready to reunite with his family. His recklessness is sending the family into a dangerous downward spiral, the cops are breathing down their necks, and Nick's past may be coming back to haunt them all.
Now Marlee isn't sure if she needs to save her own future, or her family's.
