And just as suddenly, her soul slammed back within her body. She came back to it with a shuddering sickness far worse than leaving her body had felt. Zhay found herself on the ground, lying on her side. With an involuntary heave, she threw up on the floor of the room.
Zhay was dimly aware of Sanafia [the slaver's assistant], standing over her. She had locked the manacle back around her wrist, just in time to keep her soul in place. "Hmm," the woman said. "I guess you weren't lying after all."
Zhay threw up again, just to spite her.
