Katt Winter was born and raised in the shadow of Los Angeles – also known as The Valley – to become the restless night owl, the aspiring wanderer, the passionate fan of music, and eventually the mother that she is today. Having written for as long as she can remember, it remains her truest passion. In her own words:

"I write darkly most of the time, but it is not the whole of who I am. I use my b
reath to blow the most painful parts of my experiences into words and turn it into healing. I share them in the hopes that they might make a connection to someone, that through my own words I might grow and understand myself a little better.

I believe in magic. I believe in love. When we're gone, if there is only one thing that our paltry existence leaves it's trace on in this ever-conflicted, beautiful world – it's love, so love. Let it be your truest, most uncomplicated religion. Watch the sun set. Listen to the trees. Sit for a while in the light of a beautiful moon and let your mind wander. Forgive, when you can, and that means yourself too. Bathe in natural, mundane beauty, even when you hurt so much that you cannot breathe.

Love anyone and anything when you can. It's never a truly a waste. Don't be afraid to make new friends. Don't be afraid to ask for help, because it's honestly only as hostile of a world as we make it out to be. Remember: life is too short to do anything but live, and the only guarantees in this life are the moments that we're in right now. Be content in it."
