Author bio:

This is my fourth NaNoWriMo, and I'm going for my fourth win. In 2009, I won with 73K with "Magical Bride", a comedy lampshading the Magical Girl genre, and since it was my first novel length completed work, it's awaiting revision and/or rewrite in the future. In 2010, I won with nearly 97K with "Ruby Princess", another comedy, this time lampshading JRPG cliches, but sadly, it was unfinished, as the story became much longer than expected. In 2011, I won with 82K with "Pariahs of Lightning and Water", a more dramatic story, involving teens with superpowers and lots of destruction as they were hunted by an ancient conspiracy, which was a bit of a change, and a bit darker than I was writing previously, and awaiting revision in the future.

For 2012, I'm going with a Fantasy Adventure story, "Forced by Nature". It's about three teens on Terravita, a planet resembling late 20th century Earth, who make pacts with elemental spirits. The teens acquire new powers, but find themselves being possessed by these elemental spirits, and dragged against their will into a quest to save the world. A quest that could likely kill them, and they may have no choice in the matter. I'm going to try and make the story a bit more lighthearted than last year's story, but it could be a struggle.

Outside of Nano, I've been writing a long, ongoing series, under the working title "Halogirl Mizuko", which has been in progress since November 2009, and I'm about halfway through the series at this point. It's a somewhat dramatic coming of age story with superpowers, as it follows a group of teens growing up as they uncover secrets about themselves and their worlds as they fight crime. I hope to publish this series eventually.

Most of my works tend to have a few fantasy and/or sci-fi elements due to most of my fictional media being in the fantasy genre or having fantasy or sci-fi elements. Or maybe it's my Bachelors in Biology that's talking. I also watch alot of animated fare and play video games from both sides of the Pacific, so I mostly picture my characters as animated (they tend to look manga-esque though) and influences my works a bit. I sometimes like to work in some mouth watering dishes into the narrative, as cooking is one of my top non-writing hobbies.
