Synopsis
Five years ago, Scottish-born London Metropolitan Police Detective Inspector James Mackintosh caught the worst serial killer in Britain's history but in the process he lost his wife and he almost lost his sanity and career.
Now, living in Larkspur, TX (in the fictional Bluebonnet County), Mackintosh is remarried and his new wife, Alexandra "Lexie" Cole, the head of the Bluebonnet County crime lab, is pregnant.
On what starts out as a routine domestic violence case, Mackintosh soon comes up against the serial killer dubbed "Poe," a man who has been tormenting the southern states for over six years.
With the Texas Rangers and the FBI converging in Bluebonnet County, and the body count rising, can he catch another serial killer before his wife becomes Poe's next target?
