Synopsis
Girl meets girl and all the wonderful drama that ensues.
Issues with sexuality are not the main theme, but rather issues with self, self-worth and what to do with the life you have been given. Obviously sexuality plays a part in who you are, but my point is that I could have very well just made the people have different cultural backgrounds or different religious standings. They just happened to be born this way.
For the story to have some more in it than this one romance, and because I like having many main characters to puppet, I've also given the two girls' best friends their own roles respectively.
One of the friends ends up cheating on her boyfriend, and eventually breaks up with both boys. It's also possible that her next boyfriend ends up dumping her instead. I'll see how her story goes when I get to it.
The other friend is the single mother of two very young children. This poses her problem: who in their right mind would even want to get into a relationship in that situation? Well, it turns out, many. But most of them are not ready after all. She does end up with someone though. The kids also have a pretty big role, and I love them already.
All the main characters are carefully planned out. The beginning is planned out, and also some other crucial scenes. Everybody has a more or less fixed ending to their story, but I don't want to plan it out too well, since I often tend to get best ending ideas when I write, and when I really get to know my characters and their world.

I have chosen young adult as the genre, though I'm not sure if this would better fit in romance. I think that this will turn out to be a growing up story. All the main characters are in their very early twenties, and I myself, at 24, still feel like a child, so I think it's all right to put this in the young adult category. All the changes happening in the characters' lives, especially the main two, are things people can experience at ages 16 to 26 in my opinion.
