She crept out into the night, a silent shadow in the darkness, a mere whisper through the howling wind. From the safety of the trees she escaped, and from then on into nothingness. The embrace of the darkness was not suffocating, merely warm and eager for the night to come. What seemed to be the darkest of nights grew darker still, as a lone faerie dashed in pursuit of the girl. There was only one rule here: Never travel alone. Yet here was one of the Fae, traveling alone. Following someone. Tracking one of the Fallen. Not just any of the Fallen, but a human. This should not have been done. None of this should have happened.
