I am a student, a writer, a bibliophile. I am quiet and loud, unnoticeable yet memorable. I can record truths and craft stories. I can collect the stars, walk on clouds and embrace the sun.

I go where others might fear to tread, for the sake of understanding. I offer help and guidance and often foolishly refuse others’ assistance. I can be a mediator or a menace.

I rarely organize my thoughts unless absolutely necessary. I open my mind and push my limits. I give affection freely. I have fears and desires. I laugh, cry, bleed. I have been called “too nice” but also told that I am “too cold”.

I know pain and I know love. I know that too often they can overlap. I know I make mistakes and do my best to fix them. I know there are some mistakes I can’t fix.

I am a reformed pessimist, reluctant optimist and steadfast realist. I enjoy quoting myself and sharing new ideas. I tend to ask a question out loud and then answer myself, also out loud, without first finishing the question. I narrate my life to make it more interesting.

I will step off the sidewalk to avoid crushing an ant beneath my heel, but, barring serious harm, I will always laugh when someone trips. I will help a stranger with their jacket and complain when I am asked to assist my sister with her schoolwork. I can be a study in contradictions or a perfect example of consistency. I am consistently contradictory.

I talk less than I should and write more than necessary. I have issues with strict formatting and rules. In fact, I keep a fly swatter handy should they decide to buzz around my person.
