I'm Miriam Joy, but you can call me Del if you'd like.
This year's NaNo was inspired by the song "10 000 miles to Bedlam" by a Celtic group called Ockham's Razor. Checking that out will give you a clearer idea of the tone of the novel! I've also taken elements from several other songs to help me, including 'Ghosts' by Laura Marling. ("he went crazy at nineteen / he lost all his self esteem / and couldn't understand why he was crying")
The NaNoLondon lot all think I'm crazy. 50k in four days this year. The most I ever wrote in one year was 193k in 2010, but since that was all terrible I don't intend for this year to be a repeat of that, despite beating my record for 'quickest win'. :D
I'm @miriamjoywrites on Twitter, MJLongman or Miriam Joy on YouTube, and miriamjoyblogs on Tumblr. There's a link to my actual blog lying around somewhere, too. See you around!
