I'm Mandy, an American from California living in freezing Chicago. I'm 45, married with a little girl who was born in England.

I'm writing a zombie apocalypse novel but the zombies will be background to the deeper story of what a desperate mother will do to protect her kids. Zombies will not always be the greatest of her worries.

I ~think~ there might be some exploration of zombie with memories, just to add to the overall horror of it.

In my "spare" time I've got a four year old daughter in preschool (only 2.5 hours a day) who also takes art, gymnastics, theater and swimming. I take French and I take our pup to obedience school once a week, too. I was exhausted last week so I really don't know how this will all work but writing has always been a dream of mine and I feel like this is an opportunity to put procrastination / fear of failure / backspace-button abuse aside and just go for gold.
