Back in 2009, I heard about NaNoWriMo from a friend who was participating. This was in the middle of week two when I still could have caught up. I never officially joined, but I liked the idea and so I decided to try and get caught up. And very promptly the heater died (it would pretty much stay dead until the next February) and that, along with a stressful psychology class kept me from actually finishing more than the first 1,000 words or so.
Last fall I was struggling somewhat in a math class and (I think) wisely opted to delay my official participation by another year. (I passed the class with flying colors in the end, thanks to a perfect score on the final exam).
Now it's 2011 and with renewed vigor and excitement I approach this project; determined to finish at all costs.
