Hi, I'm Ian.
I started writing when I was young, and I still have some of those notebooks, when I feel up to the task of deciphering my horrible handwriting, and finally finishing some of those stories. I was first inspired by Gordon Korman (and the foundation behind the Hardy Boys), but didn't manage his feat of early publication. The other noteworthy influences are animal fantasy: William Horwood's Duncton series, and the book Watership Down. I finished NaNo in 2010, and although the novel is still in need of work, I consider it to be my greatest achievement so far. Until I write the sequel in 2011...
Most of the reading I do now is Fantasy, Sci-fi, and mystery. My writing reflects this, but usually a bit on the dark side. I try to avoid most "Real Life" or "Real World" locations and situations.
I don't have any published novels yet, and most of my previous finished works have been (bad) poetry, and short stories.
