I am a struggling artist, single mother. Fun loving kind of gal. Life has been hard but art and nature keep me plodding on, and often lead to me finding magic in the mundane.

I like to think I challenge the stereotypes when it comes to popular views about Northern, hard up, struggling single mums as I am raising my children to be very intelligent and emotionally well rounded young people and I am quite sure they could give the people assuming the stereotypes more than a run for their money, both intellectually and morally.

I have been writing stories since I could hold a pen, completing my first book at the age of seven. I still have the original copy of "The Magic Toadstool" and I am currently working on an updated version of it, as the original, (bound by a piece of string) has been spilt upon at some point, and the illustrations aren't up to much - thanks Mum. ;)
However, although I have been writing for quite some time, I find it difficult to motivate myself to finish my stories, and this is where I am hoping nanowrimo comes into the equation.
