Synopsis
In 2006, humans discovered another race living among them; the faeries. Terrified, they began experimenting and trying to find ways to defeat their new foes. Eventually, they found a way to add iron to a human to create an entirely new race of people. The Iron People.
In 2009, war broke out between the faeries and the Iron People. On December 21, 2012, the war ended, leaving the humans as rare entities that fled from the two new coutries that rose in the place of the former United States of America, Faeryland and the Iron Kingdom.
However, there was not peace. Faeries still hunt the Iron People, and the Iron People still hunt faeries. Once a year, every sixteen year old Iron Person is sent into Faeryland to bring back a live faery. If they succeed, they take part in a grand ceremony in which they kill their first faery and become warriers.
This is the world that Kat lives in. Welcome to the year 3026. As an Iron Person in her sixteenth year, now is her time to become a warrier and finally get her father to see her as someone that matters. But when she discovers that everything she knows about faeries is a lie, that may not be as simple and straightforward as she originally thought....
