Synopsis
In the beginning was darkness. Then the great tree of life grew out of the darkness and this great forest grew from it. However, it was still a land of stillness and darkness. Then the light came. It shone into the forest and where its light hit the five first races, the Carnen, Ymbre, Tellum, Lorca, and Gray, were born. The forest became a place of life and for a long time stayed that way.
But, like anything, the forest has aged and grown corrupt. The Gray and Tellum are extinct and the Lorca nearly so. The Ymbre have holed themselves away and the remaining Carnen want control of the forest. A mysterious force called "the shadow" is attempting to take over the forest to start things over and all the darkness lurking on the edge of reality since the advent of light is trying to find its way back in.
Liam comes into all of this, his home taken by the shadow. He is young, an outsider from the world of humans, but he may be the world's only hope for survival. And in this dark world, any light is better than none, even if it is just a spark...
