I was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky and am one of five children. I have three sisters, one whom is my identical twin and one older brother. My twin and I have always been extremely close and I still consider her one of my best friends.
After high school, my twin and I went our separate ways. She joined the marine corp. and I joined the workforce. I worked full time at several different places; I was a host at a restaurant, a store clerk at Kroger and worked at an Alzheimer’s facility and gained a whole new appreciation for elderly people. I then started college at Western Kentucky University in the spring of 2004 with the intention of gaining an associate’s degree in information technology. After a year, I decided that I wanted to get my bachelor degree in accounting. After two years of accounting, I decided that numbers weren't for me either. After a long and exhausting roller coaster, I graduated with my bachelor in May 2011 in business.
In 2005, I married my best friend, Tyler, whom I met at work, at an automotive supplier for General Motors. It was love at first sight or as I would like to call it, love after tripping over a cardboard box and embarrassing the hell out of myself.
In 2009, when the economy spiraled out of control, Tyler and I were both laid off of work for almost a year. During this period, I became a reading fanatic. I read anything and everything I could get my hands on. In less than a year, I read over 300 books. After struggling with years of college, with no degree under my belt, I realized that I had nothing to lose and finally gained the courage to pursue what my heart had always secretly longed for; becoming a writer.
In August 2010, my cousin, Jennifer, called me and asked if I would like to co-write a novel with her. I agreed and from that day forward we spoke to each other hours daily via instant messenger and telephone. Every weekend, we traveled the hour distance, there and back to each other’s houses, and in less than six weeks we had the first tangible manuscript copy of Age of Eden in our hands.
From that moment moving forward, I have worked tirelessly over several different manuscripts in the hopes of being published and one of these days that time will come. Until then, I still work full time and am a closet query letter writer.
