Confessions, the update:
Still need to read more fiction. I'm still working on ye novel, so I'm not allowing myself anything even remotely fantastical or unreal so Kessian and Dorei will remain reasonably true to themselves. In fact, I'm currently overdosing on author marketing books and business books.
Making slow progress on the novel I started last April: In Shadow's Clutch. I'm hoping to be raring to go next week. We'll see.
Have a huge massive new stream of ideas for a new professional/writerly venture, but I'm moving more slowly than I'd anticipated, and my initial burst of "Holy Crap, this rocks!" energy is wearing off. My life plot-bunnies got sedated somehow. A lot of that involves developing an author platform, and my inner hermit is hampering me more than I'd like. "Don't let it all hang out!" he screams, even if I'm using a pen name. "Don't let even the faintest hint of anything hang out at all, even if your brand is just a persona!" I need to jab him with a cattle prod. Hard. Right in the tookus.
Writing Thingies of Choice:
Office 2010. Composition books. Uniball Vision, Uniball Fanthom, Pilot Frixion, PaperMate InkJoy. Bought Scrivener, but haven't been motivated enough to run through the interactive tutorial, even if I've learned how to use the name generator.
