- The Hunchback of Notre Dame (read it at 15, and totally fell in love), Devil in the white city (amazing historical non-fiction), Huckleberry Finn (Grandpa had a VERY old edition, and it was one of the first big books I read. I've read it again several times), Life of Pi, The Safehold series of books (by David Weber), Herodotus' The Histories (not exactly a novel, but I love all aspects of Greek history), 35 cents (a very unusual book for me to read, but found I couldn't put it down), , Ray Bradbury (grew up on R is for Rocket and S is for Space), H. P. Lovecraft, Mark Twain, Victor Hugo, too many to name!
