I love reading. I have three blogs, one for my love of books where I review books, help authors and publicists to publicise great fiction according to my tastes, network and such which is the one I have linked to my profile as it is my main blog and my first love. I also have a gaming blog which is primarily World of Warcraft, though I don't tend to, I am willing to blog about other MMOs and single player RPGs there... I'm a fantasy geek. Totally. I also have a personal blog but that's purely there to maintain some semblance of sanity.
I've always wanted to be a writer, I've just always struggled with ideas, plotlines, and motivation, so I'm hoping I can force that out of me and get something on paper finally that I care about. I joined in with NaNoWriMo in 2010 and I made it to 40,000 words without much of a story behind me. In 2011 I actually went into NaNo with a story to write and I made it past 50k, netting me the hefty discount on Scrivener which I'm still entirely smitten with.
Now this year I wasn't sure about joining in. I've been under so much stress this year that I just didn't think I could handle the pressure and maybe I'd be better off doing ROW80, but I never got around to joining that one and I'm weak. I have a huge soft spot for NaNoWriMo and this year, knowing a few more writerly people, perhaps it'll even be a very different experience to previous years. I regret not meeting my Leicestershire NaNoers in previous years now that I live in South Wales, but I'll probably stick my head in and say hello anyway. I don't intend to win, I just intend to take part and see what I can do now that I have a story that I REALLY care about and want to write for future publishing purposes. I'm serious this time. Wish me luck!!
