Hello! My name is Joseph (Joe is okay, but I don't care for Joey). I live pretty close to Hendersonville, so I sometimes say that's where I'm from even though I'm not. This is my 2nd year with NaNoWriMo. I completed my novel last year, but I was completely dissatisfied with it in the end. Someday I may revisit it but not any time soon.

I am highly inspired by my ancestors. If I could have one wish, it would be to time travel and receive first-hand experience with genealogy. Since that is not quite possible, I've used various resources to learn about it. Not as fun as time travel, but fun nevertheless.

Other cultures fascinate me, especially in language and music. I routinely listen to music in Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. I do listen to songs in other languages (and English, of course), but I find these 3 languages the most interesting. On a related note, most of the Spanish, Japanese, and Korean I know comes from listening to music and singing (terribly) along.

I played percussion in my high school band. I also learned to play bass clarinet during my senior year. It was a very interest and eye-opening experience for me. People had little faith in me, but I learned that hard work and determination can get me through anything. Music inspires me most of all.
