...You're not buying that for a second, are you?

Ok, so to be perfectly honest, I used to hate writing. I could never seem to do anything that sounded natural or good, so I just stopped, and let myself fantasize all the weird stories I have running through my head. Eventually I got out of grade school and went to college and in my first writing class, we read some stuff we were writing out loud. People complimented me and I just thought it was them being nice it wasn't until I started noticing that they were giving me less advice that suggested improvement than most others. I wrote a quick draft of a story and people started suggesting I write more. So I started a short story blog for me to get these many running narratives out there into the world.

I started off by writing a warm up story called "Seeking Dusk." After a few entries of that, I started my personal favorite project, "The 19th Century Paranormal Investigator." Over the course of a year and a half, I've accumulated 3 more ongoing stories, none of which I've finished. I mostly write just for fun, and when I actually complete the stories, I'll throw a friggin party for myself.

I found out about NaNoWriMo in 2010, on Oct 31. I was bored and decided to enter, and immediately came up with a story idea. It was rather rough, but I fleshed it out as the month went on. I ended up writing the last 10k words over the course of the last two days and barely completed the contest in time. The story isn't quite done, but it is much further along than any of my other stories.

Last year I started another story, but couldn't find my footing and watched it fall apart quickly. I'm hoping to avoid a repeat of that.

Good luck to one and all!
