Peek flees his abusive foster family to seek refuge on a deserted island, only to find that it's filled with monks who offer to take him in.

The monk’s tune brought back a flood of memories. Some of the happiest times that Peek could remember were the ones sitting around the fire and listening to the old monk tell stories and share his song. Could it be that that monk came back to the island? Peek remembered him talking about it in hushed tones as if his quietness would sanctify the memory of the place. But it seemed to be with a sense of loss that the monk talked about his beloved island, like he would never get to return to the home that he loved.
