Author bio:
I have been in love with words for my entire life. I made up my first poem when I was two (and recited it for a room full of adults; apparently I haven't ever had stage fright, either). I learned to read at three and began "writing" stories shortly thereafter. I read my first parenting book at the age of 11 (because I was out of books to read, and it was on my mom's bookshelf), which is also when I wrote my first "book." I wrote my first novel when I was in high school; it will probably never again see the light of day. I had an article about autism published in a local magazine in Calgary, Alberta, in 2007. I was on four panels at the "When Words Collide" conference in Calgary, Alberta, in August 2011 (because I am apparently a glutton for punishment). I currently make money editing other people's words, but I hope to eventually have someone else do that for me.
Over the course of my career, I have been an autism support worker, a respite caregiver, a babysitter, a computer technician, an administrative assistant, a Municipal Liaison (for both NaNoWriMo [Calgary 2005-2008; Saskatoon 2009-present] and Script Frenzy [Calgary 2008; Saskatoon 2009-present]), a writer, an editor, and a housewife. I expect to add "mother," "psychologist," and "published novelist" to that list in the next few years.
