I'm Kathara Sophia, one of your my region's two co-MLs this year. I answer to many nicknames, including KS and Thara (and a few based on other screennames). This is my 6th year doing NaNo, I won the previous 5. I tried Script Frenzy and Camp NaNoWriMo this year, and really got nowhere (10-15k of random short stories because I couldn't stay on plot), so I intend to redeem myself this time.

I take writing at PCC. I would love to become a published author, but I have a lot of editing to do before that's an option. I mostly write fantasy or light SciFi (though I weirded out a prof once by saying a story was me trying something different and it was completely mundane). My mom is also participating in NaNo (still working on recruiting my dad), and I have 3 Anti-Muses (cats). I also play tabletop RPGs. draw, read anything that holds still long enough, and love amateur astronomy.

Mostly I write as a sort of escapism, or a way to let my character triumph where perhaps I have not (or fail where I've somehow succeeded), that and I can't keep the stories away.
