Adam Thompson was born the first day of summer in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. After bouncing around a frak of a lot of towns and cities, he ended up residing in Shaunavon Saskatchewan for the bulk of his childhood and teenage years. During that time he was captain of the high school football team (probably the highlight of his time there); feel in love with teams that never win anything and decided he wanted to be an Egyptologist.

Entering the University with an impressively bad average, Adam discovered a couple of things. First, he was terrible at Archaeology. Second, politics was probably the coolest thing he could study. Finally, he also discovered that benders that last for a week or more, generally turn out poorly.

After taking an impressive 5.5 years to graduate with a 4 year bachelor of arts degree (notice the lack of "honour" title behind that) he has spent his time working at various jobs including a telephone interviewer, customer experience representative, research assistant, telephone recruiter, customer experience representative and finally research assistant at a different place of employment.

After spending so much time in the academy, Adam discovered that he very very pro feminist, rabidly anti racist and political frustrated. So, in his spare time he reads, writes and occasionally remembers to try to enjoy life, which he tries to do between his rants about the failures of contemporary liberalism, how much he hates post modern thought (although lately he has started to come around to accepting some of its premises), and how awesome Jurgen Habermas kicks arse.

Finally, as a devoted fan of the Edmonton Oilers and Liverpool Football Club, he has found that his tolerance for pain exceeds he high school football playing days (where he was repeatedly punch in the groin area, although don't worry, he dished out as much as he took).

His favourite book of all time is Gravity's Rainbow, although The Manitcore and The Corrections are very closely behind in his favourability ratings. What you take from this is up to you.

Also, he hates and loves winter.
