Laura could’ve done any number of things with her life, until the day she ventured from the children’s section of the library and discovered the Science Fiction/Fantasy aisle. After that, her course was fixed. She started with The Belgariad and Ender’s Game, which propelled her into the genre. She plowed through several truly awful books with scantily clad women, rockets, and magic swords on the cover, as a result she has strongly developed pet peeves about what fantasy authors should never do.
After a shockingly long distopian phase, Laura looked for something new to read. She found several excellent books but she didn’t quite find the platonic BOOK that would answer all of her demands. She realized that it hadn’t yet been written. After a few attempts she realized that she probably wouldn’t be the one to write it—at least not all in one book. She is now working on several literary projects which she hopes will display different sides of the BOOK that she’s been looking for.
