Author bio:
by day, i use playwriting to work with students of all ages all over the Philadelphia area to help them explore their creativity, find their voice, and increase their comfort in writing. by night, over the past year i've used noveling to push myself through the first in a series of Young Adult books i have in mind that put a questioning but endearing female protagonist at the helm. after finishing the first in the series just last night (Oct. 22nd), i'm really excited to start on the second while a small group of loved ones and colleagues reads the first.
to be back in the world of prose after taking a nearly ten year hiatus, i'm beside myself. between 8th grade and graduate school, i spent all my extra time tinkering with characters and worlds for fun until writing and directing plays usurped my time and creativity. last year i faced my fears that i was too rusty, too unfocused, and unable to truly finish larger writing projects, by coming out of Nanowrimo a winner. but typing THE END on my first book last night, that was the REAL moment of conquering my fears. i proved myself to myself in a big way, and now i'm looking to tackle this Nano a full-steam-ahead writer who has no fears holding her down!
