Synopsis
Once, Honoria was a well-educated thief with no father and a woman of the London streets she called Mother, and still, with her proper education and her street edification, she knew nothing about seduction. Until she was caught and seduced by the owner of the house she broke into to rob, and then declared compromised by his friends and his mother when they discovered a young girl, they assumed was of noble birth, in his bedroom half dressed and disheveled. Forced into an unwanted marriage with the owner—London’s renowned rake, Lord Ashford—who leaves her for his mistress on the day of their marriage and is reported dead five months later, Honoria xxxxx. When his mistress shows up demanding money to keep quiet the fact she is carrying Ashford’s child, Honoria makes a different bargain with the opera singer; Honoria offers to take her away and then support her for one year if the mistress will give her the child.
