I'm 20 years old, I was born and raised in California, and I finally figured out writing was "the thing" after trying to major in Philosophy, Sociology, and Psychology, among other things, giving me a whole lot of knowledge but almost no direction at all. Then, when I rediscovered writing, I transferred schools (to a community college, then UC Riverside, then the world!) to pursue the dream. I've been published a few times (mostly poetry, some news, a story or two), in magazines and weekly journals and things, but I have never completed a novel. Yet.
Oh, and in addition to my two classes, I'm applying for UCR in November, as well as participating in one of my fraternity's Initiation Rituals (I'm an alumni), so time is a bit tight. I still have juuust enough free time for novel-writing though, if I manage to cut out the lazy act I pull every afternoon, so feel free to send me a NaNoMail reminding me in a very stern tone that I should probably stop wasting time and get to the novel. I promise to obey.
