Synopsis
Nisha's a mining grunt in a frontier village close to the south pole who spends her spare time cave-diving and playing the flute in the bar. Having lately organised a failed strike, she's not exactly the flavour of the month, but being given the cold shoulder at parties pales to insignificance when she is magically framed for the murder of one of her fellow miners.
She just wants to lie low somewhere safe until someone else sorts everything out, but the aristocrat family who run the mining company have other ideas. Soon Nisha entangles herself in the rough-and-tumble world of noble politics and the underbelly of corrupt magics. Everyone wants to use her for something: she's going to have to learn to use them right back.
