This is my first year attempting a feat as awesome as NaNoWriMo. I've always been an avid reader, but only ever wrote in AP English, and then in graduate school (not so much in undergrad... too much Latin name memorizing), but never on an adventure such as this. I like challenges and deadlines that come with the wonderful inspiration of last minute panic.
I've recently started a full-time job working in kindergarten and graduated from Syracuse University in May 2011 with my Masters in Science Education. Someday I want my own classroom but I have yet to decide if I would prefer teaching high school or elementary school.
Also I love plants. A bit obsessed really. I "spurt Latin" plant names for my friends' entertainment and my own botanical nerdy amusement. As such my novel has a bit of plant and botany love. And botanical names as chapter titles.
No kids, no husband (apparently when you work at an elementary school you get asked this a lot...), just me and my highly talkative cat, Pippin (who is currently glaring at my computer disdainfully). And my wonderful friends who I <3 are my support and sanity!!
