Synopsis
To Gehenna's Laboratories, they are just numbers. Tools, really. There's not much else to it. As Specimens that aren't entirely human, children like Fifty shouldn't even be alive. But they are, and they have feelings and dreams of their own, ones that more often than not completely contrast with the ambitions of Gehenna. Still, Specimens are meant to serve the machine and use their "talents" to help their creators, not destroy them. It's a mindset ingrained into the minds of the Specimens, and it's one that they are to accept without question.
Not any more. Fifty has just arrived to Gehenna after being transferred there, but he's fallen into a maelstrom. The Specimens he meets want out, and they'll stop at nothing to get there. Fifty finds himself in a Pack, of eight others, but Fifty suspects that they're keeping more secrets than they're telling. However, even as they grow to understand each other, their world is placed into turmoil. Life for Specimens is harsh, and failure means death. Escape from Gehenna is impossible, but Fifty would much rather die on his feet than in chains. Nothing is permanent, no one can be trusted, and no where is safe.
The only thing that's certain is that none of the Specimens are going to get out of this the same.
