I first started doing NaNoWriMo after college, finding that after years of painful procrastination on papers and barely making word count, it was refreshing to write something that I wanted to write for once.

I'd always loved to read, but I'd never had the desire to write, preferring to have the stories already nicely finished and packaged for me. But doing NaNo over the years, I've slowly come to realize that I have stories to tell, too. They might not be as polished as what gets bound and sold, but I still have fun writing them :)

I plan to go to all NaNo events this year in pigtails again, but unbraided this time because it was too dangerous trying to drive to events and braid my hair at the same time last year...
