Hi!

I'm Matt, and this will be my fourth year doing NaNo but my first year doing it in London. I moved after graduation and joining the Department for Education, where I work as an Operational Researcher. As little as anyone has any idea what an Operational Researcher is, my proper title somehow manages to be more confusing and less informative, having seven words and sixteen syllables. Mostly, I work on working out how many teachers we need to be training each year.

Outside of working for the Man, I enjoy board games, making things out of paper and the occasional quiz. I don't do a lot of writing outside of NaNo related stuff, but I do do the occasional bit of short story writing and similar when inspiration strikes me.

I'm really looking forward to this year as I have a story idea that I really like and has been swirling around my head for close to six months and some time off in November to really get stuck in. For the first time this year I'm going to be shooting for 75k, which I'm writing down here primarily so that I can't deny it later.
