Author bio:
Hey! I'm Alexandra. I was born in New York, and lived there until I went to college in Canada. Never got my degree, but I did get a husband. I've been writing since I was about 11, and I finished my first book when I was 15. It was dreadfully trite, "Orphans of the Separate Heart", about ten orphans with magical powers of various sorts who are adopted and separated around the age of five, all to wealthy parents looking for powerful children, and then they fight an evil crystal. Yeah, the crystal itself was evil, not just being sought out by evil. Cut out the middle man. Still, finishing a book, it's a confidence booster. I've finished a couple more in the interim - one even past the point of edits, rewrites, and drafts galore - and I feel confident in my writing abilities.
On me, personally, I'm an atheist, and I'll apologize now for anything I might say to disrespect you or your religion. I'm the first one to admit that I have a prejudice against religion. I'm left-leaning, sometimes very far left and sometimes front and centre. Depends on the issue. I pretty much only watch anime (mostly josei) and the BBC when it comes to my television, and the shows that'll drag me from my keyboard this November will be QI and Merlin. I read comics, manga, fantasy books, classic literature, and a fair bit of literary fiction. I dabble in horror and science fiction, but if it's not by an author I love or more than 50 years old, odds are I haven't read it. Don't read much YA, but I love children's literature nearly as much as I do adult's. And I love bad movies more than good ones.
