Synopsis
A young Russian woman named Lydia is torn between the life she knew in her sleepy village by the iconic Vulga river and the new mysterious lover who bought her on the black market as a child. She learns what is real and what is myth when she finds herself thrust into a world where she must fight unknown forces threatning to question her very existance on earth. What is evil may not always be so and good people aren't always what they seem to be. Part historical fiction, part fantasy and part tragic love story.
Excerpt
I looked desperately back at my home. It still was the same on the outside, a rusty old tilted thing that had shared as many cold winters as I had. It wasn’t much but it was my home. My home with my loving father and my sisters. As I struggled, I started to cry. It was the only home I ever knew. To even think of leaving it was astonishing but that didn’t stop my mother from turning down a street alley way and making my world turn upside down.
