Author bio:

I am in love with it all, and life is not long enough.

I lost my original NaNo account - lost the name and password, so started this new one :-) Some of my early writing got lost too, during various house moves, and a recent flood. Pages and pages washed clean of words.

it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is reaching 50k by 2011.11.30

There's nothing on my website yet. The plan is to make it spring to life with progress on this novel during November. (UPDATE: That's just not going to happen now! I'll spring it to life once I've hit my 50k word goal)

Who am I kidding? :-)

This year I am writing in snatches, quick 10 minute sessions grabbed here and there in between intense sessions at work. It's going to be tough to tame my brain and make the most of what little time I get.

My target is 2500 words per day, and this is how I will do it:

250 words when I first get up, before I walk the dogs and let the hens out.
250 words when I first get into work, before morning registration.
250 words during morning break.
500 words at lunchtime.
250 words after work before I head for home.
250 words while Frankie is playing.
250 words while Frankie has his bath / has bedtime stories with Judy not me.
250 words while we make dinner.
250 words while Judy watches TV.
250 words after Judy goes to bed and before I work on my business.
250 words after I have worked on my business and before I go to bed.

= 2500 words per day.

If I get any other free time, I'll use it to get another 250 words done on top of that.

By sticking to this daily target, I will hit 50,000 words by Day 20. By Day 30 I should be on target for at least 75,000 words.

Remember the mantra: Don't get it right, get it written!

UPDATE: Well, it started out fine, and then life threw in its spanners and the works got jammed up. Not one, but two lightning school inspections got announced with six days notice this November, so I was up all night working on day job stuff, for days on end, at crucial word count moments.

The plan? I'll be going all out for 8k days this weekend (Nov 26th & 27th) and I'm going to see how I can push to make one of them a 10k day! Basically, I'll nail my NaNo novel this weekend.
