Author bio:
I am constantly reading a book, or two, or three. I have written short stories for myself but never attempted the 50,000 word challenge. I am awe struck by this site and can't wait to get started! My passions are top quality tea, my 4 year old, reading, working with my hands in a creative pursuit, my corgi mix dog, and my husband.
I have had a rough idea for a novel for some time now and I am finally ready to put pen to paper and throw caution to the wind! I have been warned to aim low and that's my plan. I am prepared to go into this armed with nothing more than a few tins of good Darjeeling, my laptop and a bag of chocolate chips. Well, maybe two bags. But seriously, that's it. I may be embarking on this crazy adventure, but I still have my dignity.
This goes entirely against all that I am, but I am ready to embrace my inner mediocrity. I WILL give up my obsession with picking ultra perfect names. I will NOT lie awake at night wondering if my fictional family lives in a pale yellow colonial or a brick one story ranch. I will get in the passenger's seat and let the story drive me. I will pound down my OCD and let my participles dangle!
What do I hope to get out of this self imposed insanity? I have no idea. Therein lies the thrill, the enticement, the sheer beauty of this crazy idea.
