This year will be my 9th NaNoWriMo! I was the municipal liaison for the San Diego area from 2004 to 2006. For me, this is noveling bootcamp. Each year I try to learn something new about my writing. So far I've learned that extensive outlining kills my muse, completely winging it results in too much sex and violence as filler, and having a large enough scope is crucial. Someday I may actually finish/edit one of my novels and try to get it published.
Last year was the first year I did not "win." My 15-year-old dog died early in November and I quit. This year I hope to regain my mojo.
